Sugar Slides As Supply Concerns Ease

Fundamentals

Sugar prices continue to tumble from recent highs, on indications that India may become an exporter of the sweetener once again. The upcoming crop seems to be very healthy at the moment, and is estimated to yield 27% more than last crop year. Various projections put the export total in the neighborhood of 1 million metric tons. Brazil is also expected to have a bountiful harvest, which when coupled with the positive Indian crop projections suggests the world may be reversing the trend of evaporating supplies. The Russian wildfires could, however, provide some support for prices. Many analysts’ projections factored in production of about 4 million tons of Russian Sugar. This number is now seen coming in around 3.5 million tons. Even with the lower Russian production, the world is expected to see more than ample Sugar supplies, which could make further gains in price difficult to come by.

Trading Ideas

The fundamental outlook for the Sugar market has become much less supportive for prices, but Russia remains a wildcard. Technically, it seems as though the recent uptrend is ready to turn lower, but the chart does not confirm this yet. Some traders may wish to wait and see how the market behaves around the 18.00 level. I

Tips to Settle in Safely

When you buy a home, there will be many jobs to accomplish, from changing your address and having your utilities shut off at your old residence to cleaning and unpacking at your new home. Don’t overlook these important tasks to help ensure your safety:

*Immediately have the locks changed. You never know how many contractors, neighbors, or maintenance providers possess copies of the keys. Although these people may be trustworthy, your keys could get into the wrong hands.
*Change the codes on security systems and garage door openers. Similar to choosing a password for your computer, make sure your codes aren’t easy to guess: don’t use your house number as the code for your garage.
*Replace the batteries on the smoke alarms. Buy one fire extinguisher for each level of the house and garage.
*Make sure the house numbers are at least 6-inches tall. They should be clearly visible from the street to help emergency vehicles spot your house should the need ever arise.

Debt Settlement Produces More Welfare than Credit Counseling

“Debt Settlement Produces More Welfare than Credit Counseling” – Franklin Debt Relief to FTCA new report submitted by Franklin Debt Relief’s CEO, Robert Zangrilli, to the FTC shows that debt settlement benefits consumers more than credit counseling, and in fact, consumers who use credit counseling lose more money in non-refundable payments than they save based on industry statistics. This finding comes on the heels of the FTC’s proposed advance fee ban for debt settlement companies, which according to the report, titled “Common Sense”, would cause significant collateral damage by forcing more consumers to enroll in debt management plans (DMPs).

The report points out that since non-profit credit counseling is subsidized by credit card companies it is naïve to assume that these agencies serve the interests of consumers, and it goes on to support this thesis with statistics such as the fact that 35% of consumers who contact consumer credit counselors are enrolled in debt management plans (DMPs) despite the fact that more than 75% of these consumers will never complete their programs. According to Zangrilli, the average consumer who uses a DMP loses approximately $5,000 in non-refundable payments to credit card companies when they should have been advised to seek out the services of a debt settlement company or bankruptcy attorney immediately.
